Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit on patrol on Fair Street in Carmel on Thursday, Jan. 9, stopped a motorist near George Fischer Middle School.
During the traffic stop, the investigation by Sheriff’s deputies found that the driver, Carmel resident Souvann Deiondre Williams, 26, had a suspended driver’s license that was related to 27 separate suspensions.
According to police, the bulk of the suspensions were for failing to answer or pay previously issued summonses.
Williams was arrested and charged with a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear later this year in the Town of Carmel Justice Court to respond to the charge.
